Schaum’s Purple produces average yields of uniform roots that have dark purple skin and flesh. Developed by Gary Schaum of Duck Creek Farm, Schaum’s Purple is sweeter than many other purple varieties we grow.
We purchased this variety from Sandhill Preservation.
The plant habit is vining. Leaf color is green with a few leaves having a purplish tint. Leaf shape is mostly cordate with some triangular leaves, and the leaves have up to 3 points.
